Veolia Water Technologies exhibits today at the 11th edition of China Brew China Beverage (CBB) 2014, held from 13 - 16 October 2014 at the New China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. As a leading global water solutions provider, Veolia will showcase key solutions that are best suited to address water and wastewater processing challenges in the brewery and beverage industry.
Water & Wastewater Solutions for the Brew & Beverage industry
The Veolia solutions on show at CBB 2014 are the AnoxKaldnes™ Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR), Biobed® Advanced Technology, TECTA™ Automated Microbiology System, ELGA® LabWater, and an in-house business management tool, Green2Biz.
- AnoxKaldnes™ Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) is a biological solution that implements the biofilm principle. The biofilm grows within specially engineered plastic carriers, and these carriers are then suspended and kept in motion by blast air injections in aerobic systems, or by stirrers in anoxic or anaerobic systems. With a relatively small footprint, the AnoxKaldnes MBBR is able to achieve between 60 - 70% COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) removal and handle extremely high loading conditions without clogging issues.
- Biobed® Advanced Technology is a patented anaerobic wastewater reactor that integrates two existing reactor systems - the Biothane Upflow Anaerobic Sludge (UASB) and Biobed® Expended Granular Sludge Bed (EGSB). In addition to its superior sludge retention capabilities, the Biobed® Advanced reactor also minimizes odor emission due to its reactor design. The system enables superior gas and liquid separation, and is the choice anaerobic reactor for performing wastewater treatment processes economically.
- The TECTA™ Automated Microbiology System is approved by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), and can be used to perform regulatory compliance testing for E. coli and Coliform bacteria in drinking water distribution system samples. The fully automated on-site microbiology testing technology is simple, fast, and flexible to be used anytime without the need for a microbiologist.
- ELGA® LabWater offers water purification systems designed to support different water quality standards used for laboratory, healthcare, and clinical purposes. The PURELAB® Chorus range of water systems allows manufacturers to fully optimize laboratories with limited laboratory space, and also enables users to retain precise control over dispensing methods and storage options.
James Peng, Solutions Director, at Veolia in China, shared, "The brewery and beverage market in China is tremendous in terms of variety, size, and complexity, and Veolia is keen to help address manufacturers' water and wastewater challenges using the expertise that we have gained over the years. These solutions have been endorsed and implemented by many manufacturers in the brew and beverage industry, so it made sense for us to present them at CBB 2014 for the benefit of the industry at large."
Developed to help businesses manage their water resources sustainably and to reduce the present and future impact of their activities on the environment, Green2Biz is Veolia's leading approach towards sustainable water resourcing and use.
- Green2Biz: The approach is aimed at helping manufacturers focus on their core business while optimizing the water cycle in manufacturing plants. The program also supports manufacturers in ultimately reducing their environmental footprint and achieving sustainable cost savings.
Additionally, Veolia is organizing a technical forum at CBB. From 1.30 - 4.30pm on 14 October 2014, attendees stand to learn more about Veolia's water and wastewater solutions for the brewery and beverage industry. Experienced speakers will each take the stage to engage forum attendees. They include:
- Kai-Uwe RICHTER, Regional Market Manager, Food & Beverage, Projects, South East Asia Industrial
- Mathieu LE NOIR, Regional Sales Manager, Asia Pacific AnoxKaldnes
- Grace ZHANG, Sales Manager, ELGA, & Tom XU, Sales Manager, CSP
- Fabrice LATCHOUMANIN, Business Development Director, Veolia
James Peng concludes, "Water and wastewater challenges will continue to multiply across industries due to prevalent issues such as water scarcity and tightening environmental regulations, and manufacturers in the brewery and beverage industry may struggle if they are unable to mitigate these challenges. Through platforms such as CBB, Veolia hopes to communicate our capabilities to help support businesses as they strive towards sustainable growth. We look forward to the turnout over the next few days, and hope to reach out to more manufacturers in this industry."
